~ because fresh air is the best
I realized recently I’ve been indoors with my nanny baby more than usual. Last week, we went for a stroller walk in the neighborhood and it was wonderful! Getting out of my head (Checklist much? Let’s see: laundry, restock diapers, clean bottles, etc.) and getting us both out of the house is so beneficial. For starters, fresh air boosts one’s immune system. Take that germs! It’s also energizing. Think of a walk outdoors as nature’s cup of freshly brewed coffee. Plus, getting out in the sun (don’t forget to put sunscreen/sunblock on the kiddies!) provides that much needed Vitamin D that equips our cells to absorb phosphorus and calcium that are necessary for healthy and strong bones.
There’s so much to take in while enjoying your stroller walk. I recall over the summer utilizing walking past a barking dog as a learning experience for a toddler who wasn’t familiar with them. The first time, he cried. Understandably so. After explaining that’s what dogs do and why they do it, the next time we encountered a vocal pup, the toddler was at ease and we went on our way. Not too long ago, I revisited a gorgeous water fountain in a park that simultaneously became a white noise machine helping my nanny baby enjoy a peaceful nap. And there’s also the the opportunity to stop and smell the pretty flowers and fresh cut grass that promote relaxation and ease stress for you and your nanny kid(s).
An added bonus of potentially catching up on any emails, texts, and/or phone calls while your nanny child naps is always nice. Nanny children will always be better off for it too. You see, they’ve been on an adventure! Taking in all the sights and sounds and processing it all in their own way without you necessarily hovering all over them, lol. Let’s be clear: completing your daily nanny tasks are important, yes, because that’s your job. But so is maintaining your and your nanny child’s overall well-being ॐ
